How it is laid

What defines herringbone

Rectangular boards meet at right angles in a staggered, interlocking run, so the floor reads as a woven surface rather than a set of parallel lines.

The pattern draws the eye across a room, which makes it well suited to entries, hallways and living spaces where the floor is meant to be noticed.
